WHY IS ACCREDITATION IMPORTANT?

In order to understand the importance of what we offer,  the first thing you  need to know is what is accreditation and why it is important. Khojah and Shousha  have defined accreditation as:

“…a process of validation in which colleges, universities and other institutions of higher education are evaluated based on the quality of education they offer to their students. It is a process to promote self-assessment, quality improvement and excellence in the field of English language teaching and administration.”

I will evaluate your program and help you identify your strengths and weaknesses. Through the documentation templates and checklists I have created, I will help you organize your program using CEA nomenclature as used in their 44 different standards so we can be sure your program complies with all of them.

Done prior to beginning the CEA accreditation process; evaluates basic aspects of your school as they relate to compliance with the general eligibility criteria.

A review of documents for errors, omissions, and lack of compliance with general eligibility criteria.

  • Self-study Report

Done at any time prior to the submission of the self-study document; evaluates your school’s strengths and weaknesses with regard to curriculum, policies and procedures, and student services as well as other program aspects. Review of the entire documentation for errors, inconsistencies, and responses which fall short of meeting CEA accreditation criteria.

  • Pre-site visit

Done prior to the CEA accreditation site visit; evaluates your school’s preparedness as it relates to on-site documents, record keeping, and procedural follow through.

  • Site visit response

A review of documents for errors, lack of clarity, and appropriateness of responses to concerns expressed by the CEA site visit team.
